Today we sat down with Lindsey from Lulu’s Logo Shop to talk about the importance of designing and building a brand for your Real Estate Transaction Coordinator business. This includes everything from the colors you choose, the look and feel of your company. Branding can share how you want your clients to feel when working with you or what you believe in. Building a brand for your Transaction Coordinator business is the first step towards building the know, like and trust factor with your clients and I can’t wait to learn what Lindsey has to teach us today. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us today about branding and I can’t wait for our readers to get to know you a little better. Shall we get started, Lindsey?
1. Let’s start by getting to know you a little better Lindsey. Why don’t you tell us a little about your background and how LuLu's Logo shop was born?
Absolutely! Hey there, my name is Lindsey, the name + face behind LuLu’s Logo Shop 🙂 I’m a type-A, morning person, and matcha tea fanatic who currently resides in Des Moines, Iowa with my wonderful husband.
I’ve been continuously falling in love with design ever since I was 3 years old in diapers… standing on the kitchen chair crafting with my mom and sister.
Growing up I’ve always admired the many entrepreneurial females in my life...my mom, my sister, friends, and family members. So shortly after I graduated with a BA in Graphic Design I used all that I learned to create LuLu’s Logo Shop in hopes of helping other inspiring boss babes get their businesses off the ground!
One of the biggest challenges of starting a business is creating a professional brand on a budget. Most businesses starting out don’t have the upfront capital ($$) to invest in a thousand dollar brand. Our hope is to remove that barrier so more female entrepreneurs can build the business of their dreams. That’s why all of our logos start at $10!
Ever since we’ve launched, I’ve never looked back! I love what I do and supporting the women behind the businesses.

2. Why do you think branding is so important for a business?
Branding is important because it helps a business stand apart from the competition. Branding also helps make your business more easily identifiable. By making your business identifiable to customers, it inherently helps distinguish you against the competition. Branding also helps build credibility and trust, giving customers a positive memorable impression with your business before they even interact with you. It’s important to note that your branding goes a lot deeper than a logo. It can be expressed in all touchpoints with your customers. Anywhere from your logo, website, social media presence, to customer interaction and content. All of the customer touchpoints make up your brand.
While branding encompasses so much more than a logo, a logo is still very impactful. Logos are essentially the face of your business and heavily contribute to making your company identifiable in the market.
3. What do you think branding can say about your business?
Even though I have limited experience in real estate, I can imagine trust is an important element. If your brand doesn’t look established, professional or consistent it can lead to mistrust even before customers interact with you.
For example: when I go to the Apple store I know what my experience will be (consistent), their branding is established and professional. This puts me at ease, even subconsciously, before I interact with an associate.
Good branding that’s established, professional, and consistent communicates trust even before you say a word to your clients.
Branding is the same thing as dressing up to see a client. You wouldn’t dress in your pajamas to see a client because they would get the wrong impression of you. A brand is the same thing, it helps communicate a positive impression about your business to your clients.
4. What is your favorite tool or software to create branding pieces? And do you have any suggestions for an easy to use tool to try as well?
I love Adobe Illustrator, I use it all the time! However, Canva is a great tool for beginners or those who may not have Adobe products. A lot of the basic functionality Illustrator has is in Canva and it’s for FREE, which is always nice.
5. Can you give our readers a few tips on how to get your started building your logo without feeling overwhelmed?
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by creating a brand. A great place to start is with the logo. In branding terms, it’s the face of your company.
I’ve outlined 3 simple steps to creating a brand below. I use this with my clients and may help you as well.
- Define your business and who your ideal customer is.
- Pick 3 inspirational images that speak to your ideal customer.
- Find a premade logo that aligns with those 3 inspirational images.
I outline these steps more in detail in the “How to Create A Brand & Website Under $154” guide here if you’re looking for more detail.
6. What are some common pitfalls you see when people create their own branding?
I see a lot of people starting their businesses thinking they need a thousand-dollar brand that communicates every little detail about their business. In reality, they just need a simple, clean, professional logo and a few other elements like an email signature, FB cover/profile, business cards etc. to have a killer brand.
7. Is there anything else you want to add or think would be important for our readers to know?
